Luma Balance

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Luma Balance ("Luma," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Luma.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use Luma. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

2. What Luma is — and isn't

Luma is a wellness community app built around weekly check-ins, community posts, messaging, and optional health-condition resources, designed to support steady, sustainable habits rather than daily pressure or streaks.

Luma is not a medical service and does not provide medical advice. Weight, mood, and other check-in data, the condition resource cards, and any responses from the in-app AI assistant are for general education and self-reflection only. They are not a diagnosis, treatment, or substitute for care from a qualified healthcare provider. Always talk to a doctor, therapist, registered dietitian, or other licensed professional about your individual health, and before making changes based on anything you see in the app.

3. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us right away at lumabalancesupport@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from your account settings.

4. Community content and conduct

Luma's community features — posts, comments, replies, direct messages, and group chats — are meant to be a supportive space. By posting or messaging, you agree not to:

Harass, bully, threaten, or demean other users.
Post content that promotes self-harm, disordered eating behaviors, or dangerous weight-loss practices.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with anyone.
Post spam, advertising, or unsolicited commercial content.
Share another person's private information without their consent.
Upload content you don't have the rights to share, or that is unlawful, hateful, or sexually explicit.

You retain ownership of content you post, but you grant Luma a license to host, store, and display it as needed to operate the Service (for example, showing your posts in the community feed).

5. Moderation

We may review, remove, or restrict content or accounts that violate these Terms, without prior notice, to keep the community safe. You can report content or message us directly at lumabalancesupport@gmail.com if something concerns you.

6. Third-party services

Luma relies on third-party providers to operate — including Supabase (database, authentication, storage), Vercel (hosting, analytics), Resend (email delivery), and Google Gemini (the AI assistant feature). Your use of these embedded features is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains this in more detail.

7. Termination

You may stop using Luma and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or create risk or legal exposure for Luma or other users.

8. Disclaimers

Luma is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular health or wellness outcome will result from using it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Luma and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by law.

If you are in crisis: Luma Balance is a wellness community, not a crisis or medical service, and cannot respond to emergencies in real time. If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) any time, day or night. In an emergency, call 911.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
